JAYWAY REALLY OPENED MY EYES
It's not an exaggeration to say that Jayway is responsible for making me interested in my work. They have made me realise what good spirit and openness there is within the developers' community.
BIG BROTHER ALWAYS KNOWS BEST
When I was younger I played drums and guitar while it was my older brother who sat hunched over the computer all day. When the time came to choose a program for high school I didn't have a clue what to do. My brother said "You should study technology!". I said "Ok". When I graduated I still didn't have a clue. My brother said "You should study electrical engineering!". I thought "That doesn't sound like much fun but ok.".
After I got my degree I got a job at an international firm where my brother worked. I soon became team leader but eventually I got worried that I'd lose touch with the hands-on work so when I saw Jayway's ad in the paper, I said to my wife, "That's me!".
WE ARE ALL JAYWAYERS
Even though I knew of Jayway's reputation as sharp consultants, I've been pleasantly surprised. Everyone understands the importance of test throughout the lifecycle of a project. This makes my job more fun and gives me more motivation to become better at what I do. There are loads of activities, both social and educational. It's not like the consulting firms where you only come into the office four times a year. You really feel lika a Jaywayer!
I commute from Gislövs läge where I live with my wife and daughter and a baby on the way. As you might have guessed, family has always been important to me. I grew up in Trelleborg with an older brother and three sisters and we've all stayed in the area. Our parents' house is like a hub and there's always someone visiting. I've started to enjoy gardening and I've cautiously mentioned to my wife getting a digital drum kit. My work gives me challenges every day and solving them and implementing something good is rewarding. Now, I've become like my brother: I sit hunched over the computer.
