Gustaf – Javascript fanboy

If you pass by Gustaf’s work station you will notice that here is a human being that has put some thought into maximizing efficiency through attention to well being and detail. Set up in an ergonomic Star Trek style chair that promotes some seriously good looking posture, his hands perched upon a wrist rest, he taps away upon his Dvorak enabled, label-less TypeMatrix keyboard. Gustaf is a .NET developer and self proclaimed fanboy of JavaScript.

Having left and returned to Jayway after checking out what it’s like to work with a very small firm, he says “The most awesome thing about Jayway is the community feeling that we have here.” He continues, noting appreciation for the way that the company uses agile methodologies and more wholistic team engagement throughout the process, rather than a project simply being punted from one department to the next.

Recently moved to the old harbour town of Ystad, when he and his girlfriend, Sara, want to discover new metropolises, they do so via skateboard, with their most recent adventure rolling through Berlin. When asked about the tattoo on his leg of John Cage’s controversial piece, “4 Minutes, 33 Seconds”, he responds “For me, what is impressive is that, like Marcel Duchamp, Cage pushed the boundaries of what constitutes the art form, encouraging the listener to contemplate what music actually is. If music is sound, and sound is silence….there is something to this. The tattoo is a reminder that I can challenge my perceptions and reconsider the way something is framed.”
